Sara discovered her love of gardening at a young age while working alongside her Pawpaw, and she continues that tradition today with the skills and values he passed down. Using time-honored methods like the “Three Sisters” planting, she grows a thriving garden that reflects both sustainability and care for the land. In her first year in our Garden Program, Sara has enjoyed learning from fellow gardeners and building community through shared knowledge. Her goal is to give back by donating produce and eggs to local food pantries, living out the generous spirit behind the name Blessed Bounty Farm.
Katlin joined Saint Vincent Mission’s Workforce Development Program at a pivotal moment in her life, coming out of rehabilitation, participating in a court-mandated program, and navigating pregnancy while facing significant personal challenges. With steady encouragement, accountability, and hands-on support from staff, she broke overwhelming obstacles into achievable steps, completing both the WorkLife and Faith & Finance programs and making meaningful progress toward financial stability. Along the way, Katlin reached important milestones toward independence, including earning her driver’s license and developing valuable administrative skills through her internship at the Mission. Today, Katlin is thriving as a new mother, maintaining her sobriety, and building a strong, stable future—reflecting the impact of walking alongside individuals with compassion, structure, and hope.
